Keys’ wife and four daughters have been in Florida Keys for more than a month, a vacation they took when they found out he was sick.
He had been in New Orleans, New York and other places in a “very vulnerable” situation, Keys said.
“My wife and I were trying to figure out how to do our best to be there with him and do our part to be supportive and to support him.
We’re in the most vulnerable position in the world to know that he’s going through the same thing as everyone else.”
Key West has a massage therapist who runs the resort and a receptionist who makes arrangements for guests, Keys told The Associated Press.
They also use a home spa to help relax the body and keep visitors focused on the spa.
“It was a very tough decision for us to make, to take away our children, because we really didn’t know what to do,” he said.
Key West is one of three Florida Keys resorts in which visitors can pay to have their body touched and treated by the resort’s owner.
Key said the family had paid $2,000 for a private massage, but he said it was “very expensive.”
“We’re very comfortable and grateful for the experience,” he added.
Key, a former NFL quarterback and Florida State coach, retired after the 2017 season and is now a member of the New York Jets coaching staff.
“We are extremely proud of our work and our partnership with the Keys and their employees to provide an incredible experience for our guests and guests’ families,” the hotel’s parent company, Florida Keys, said in a statement.
Key and his family have lived in Key West since 2002, according to a hotel Web site.
The family has traveled on the Keys’ private jet and flown in to Key West on several occasions.
Keys has been in the public eye in recent years.
He was in the news in 2017 for a controversial tweet that said he believed the president of the United States should be impeached.
That was the latest in a string of comments Trump has made about the media.
He also criticized a Florida jury for not convicting former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort on tax fraud charges.
The jury deliberated less than three hours before handing down a verdict on Monday.
Key was also featured in a video made by the anti-Trump group American Bridge, which was also released Monday.
It was taken from the 2016 campaign season, but Trump did not mention the Florida Keys in the video.
Key has a history of controversy.
He has been the subject of a lawsuit from the National Basketball Association and an investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice, but it was not immediately clear if he had been disciplined.
He resigned from the Florida GOP in July 2018, less than two months after winning the party’s nomination for president.
The Florida Keys has become a magnet for political outsiders in recent months, including former Alaska Gov.
Sarah Palin, who attended a Trump rally on Feb. 15.
The resort was a hub of the 2016 presidential campaign, hosting rallies for then-candidate Trump, then-Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, then Gov.
Jeb Bush and Trump’s running mate, Indiana Gov.
Key spent the first two days of the election in Florida before returning to New York, where he attended a rally in Trump Tower.
Key’s campaign manager, Scott Brown, said he was relieved to be back in Key Washington and was “honored” to be able to help with Key West’s preparations for the upcoming weekend.
Key also visited his father, former President John Key, at the resort, and has been spending time with his family at his vacation home in Florida.
“I’m just grateful for all the support, all the love that has been shown,” Brown said.
He said he had spoken to Trump by phone after news of his diagnosis broke.
“He’s been there and he’s been in contact with me,” Brown added.
“They are just very supportive.
He is a very good father and a very strong person.
He loves his family, he loves his kids and he has made a very positive change in the lives of all the family.”
The family plans to fly to Key Biscayne, Florida, later this week, where they plan to spend a week with Key and members of his family.
They will be in the area for a weekend vacation and then will travel to Key City, a popular Florida vacation spot.
Brown said he would like to return to Key Washington in the future and said he hopes the visit to Key Coney Island will give him more opportunity to be around the community.
“That’s where the heart and soul is, Key Bight,” Brown told The AP.
“There’s a lot of great people in the community that I would love to be with again.”
